Do you like Turner/Austin?
Or Andre J/Benson?
In playing around with mocks from the 5 spot, those are two possible combos in RD1-2.

Based on last years per game stats ( 6 pts TD, 1 pt per 10 yards rush/rec) as starter, Austin(15.3) and Turner (13.7) look slightly better than AJ (13.3)and Benson (13.2). I think Miles stats will come down a bit, maybe 2-3 points per game. I see the rest being close to the same, but Turner has some upside because I really think Falcons will contend this year and he'll be a key part of it (and possibly win division). In Benson's favor Cincy was best at getting money yards last quarter. if AJ can score some more TD's, who knows, he may just beat last years counts.

Going with gut...I like AJ and Benson better.

Should have qualified. It's non-PPR and we must start 3 WRs. I'm targeting Romo at 3.05 and wouldn't mind Nicks at 5.05 as a WR3. I'm aiming to have all 3 WRs before RD6. Obviously, the flow of the draft and my tiers will determine that, but I'm seeing a real pattern in these mocks, which I've done at three different sites: mockdraftcentral, CBS and Fuzzy's.

The thing about the 5 spot is that I can pretty much control things. In every mock I've done, CJ, AP, MJD and Rice have been the first four (with MJD and Rice switched once). Andre J and Turner are the only guys I'm considering at 5 if that happens. So I likely will have the option of going RB-WR, WR-RB or even WR-WR.

Turner and Austin for sure.

Non PPR Turner is considerably better than Benson (hell even in PPR as neither catch any passes).

Non PPR I think Austin can come close to AJs numbers. AJ tends to be weaker in the TD category but makes it up by catching 100 passes.

Difference between Turner and Benson is much bigger than the difference between Austin and AJ in my opinion.

I don't think the difference between Benson and Turner is really very wide. It was only half a point per game last season, and unless Turner just really goes back to his awesome 2008 form, I don't see it getting that much wider. In 12 full games Bensosn did post 6 100 yards games and another 4 with at least 75 yards. That's pretty good..and Cincy's line may be even better this year. Of course with Benson the key thing is seeing if he gets suspended by the Commish. And he'll have more competition for TD's with TO in town.

OK, how about this for the first 3 RDs, assuming I don't take Romo in RD3?

Turner/Austin/DeSean Jax or Rice
Andre J/Austin/Mathews or Charles
Andre J/Benson/DeSean Jax or Rice

Not sure if this matters to y'all, but I think Turner will be big this year. I'd take the Turner/Austin combo...

Michael Turner(RB - Atl )

Jul 27, 2010 8:49 am Michael Turner "basically lived" at the Falcons' practice facility during the offseason.

Fantasy Source Spin: "Fitness will not be an issue," according to beat reporter D. Orlando Ledbetter. The Falcons acknowledged that Turner was out of shape early last season, resulting in a low yards-per-carry average to begin the year. He was just rounding into shape when he suffered an ultimately season-ending high right ankle sprain in the ninth game. Turner should bounce back big this year.

In non-PPR, I'd rather have Turner and Austin

I like the WR-WR-RB combo here (I have White and Marshall over Miles, but that's personal preference), although I think its very risky to assume Charles or Matthews will be there in mid 3rd (at least in 12 team league). However its a 3 WR league, that would give you a big advantage starting with 2 top 7 WR's.

Taking what I believe matches the format is PPG projections for 2010 from FF Index (6 pts TD, 1 pt per 10 yards, NO PPR)
Turner/Austin/DeSean Jax or Rice (35.2 to 34.6, Rice a slight downgrade from DJax)
Andre J/Austin/Mathews or Charles (36.6 to 34.9, Charles as a downgrade from Charles)
Andre J/Benson/DeSean Jax or Rice (36.3 to 35.5, Rice a slight downgrade from DJax)

Yea ... I am leaning that way, too ... not sure Benson will repeat last season, and I think Turner will be closer to 2008 form than 2009. Non-PPR ... Austin and AJ are very close, imo.

Well at least Benson has a better shot to post better stats now that he won't be suspended...ha!
