No doubt he was one of the hardest hitters to ever play the game, a game much different than today's game. One of the best safeties ever.
Absolutely ... there was a quick blip on NBC Nightly News, and my wife even took note. He personified Raider Nation, imo. Glad I was a fan at the time to witness him on the field (from my tv set here in the midwest)
