| Yeah my local league 5 QBs were drafted by 2.03 so I am either jumping in early or waiting as half the teams will have a QB by the end of the 2nd round if not by mid 3rd. Thinking I might get Romo at 4.04 this year as the guys drafting behind me will be going QB early from what I am gathering. I am planning on waiting but not too long, or just go for broke later with Flacco/McNabb/Eli/Palmer/Roethlisberger. |

OK tried the opposite approach and went QB early. With the late bye I wanted to carry one at the position to help lock up RB.
1. Shonn Greene (NYJ - RB) 2. Aaron Rodgers (GB - QB) 3. Sidney Rice (Min - WR) 4. Chad Ochocinco (Cin - WR) 5. Michael Crabtree (SF - WR) 6. Ricky Williams (Mia - RB) 7. Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB) 8. Ben Tate (Hou - RB) 9. Steve Slaton (Hou - RB) 10. Zach Miller (Oak - TE) 11. Thomas Jones (KC - RB) 12. Terrell Owens (Buf - WR) 13. Dallas (Dal - DEF) 14. Chaz Schilens (Oak - WR) 15. David Akers (Phi - K) |

| Like it a lot. You got my No. 1 QB. Ochocinco will turn out to be great value, I think. Like the way you hammered the RBs in the middle rounds. Also got a high-upside TE for good value. TO, though ... I think he's washed up. Even if he hooks up with a team, it likely will be as a reserve WR or No. 2 guy, so I wouldn't anticipate he'd be very fantasy-friendly. |

In past years, I have waited on a QB. I got Schaub in the 6th round last year and that was an absolute steal. However, for some reason, this year, QBs are going like hotcakes.
I have generally targeted and been able to obtain either Romo or Rivers by the end of the 3rd or early 4th in most drafts. That is probably what I am going to have to do this year. Get my QB, if I want a top tier one, in the 3rd or 4th round. |

Vegas thats exactly what I am thinking of drafting in the 4th as the guys drafting after me will have already taking QBs so they shouldnt take a QB in the 3rd.
Funny thing is the guy drafting 12th says he may take 2 QBs early for trade bait, but we already know how that works. He is the defending champ and still wet behind the ears. |

I would encourage him to do it. hahaha That means one top tier player is dropping. Trade bait is one thing but why not just take a top tier player with that pick and not have to worry about trading. Odd strategy.
How is he your defending champ???

I agree. I've never understood that philosophy. I don't want to let anyone else dictate my team for me. If you draft somebody you don't need, then you're immediately throwing your team out of whack. Then you have to depend on somebody else to fill your holes that YOU created. One blowhard did that in my draft 3-4 years ago. Took Brady and Bulger (when he was a top-6 guy) in the first four RDs. Then he spent the rest of the draft in the chat room, trying to drum up a deal. He couldn't have been focusing on actually drafting players. He was stuck with both of those guys for the entire season. |

Exactly. You should never bank on being able to trade someone. Also, having 2 top tier players may even have a negative effect. People know that you can only start 1 QB, and they also know that you NEED to trade him to get another skill position player. So, they have the advantage. They don't want to give up a ton b/c they know YOU are the one that needs to trade. The only way you would get full value for the extra QB is if an injury occurs and someone is desperate.
Last year, a guy in my keeper league kept both Brady AND A. Rodgers. He tried to trade Rodgers, but he wanted too much (this was last year before he really blew up). Ultimately, he ended up basically "giving" Rodgers away for Brandon Jacobs straight up.
And we all know how THAT worked out. |

I would be pretty happy with this lineup:
1. Rashard Mendenhall (Pit - RB) 2. Miles Austin (Dal - WR) 3. Steve Smith (NYG - WR) 4. Knowshon Moreno (Den - RB) 5. Cedric Benson (Cin - RB) 6. Brent Celek (Phi - TE) 7. Kevin Kolb (Phi - QB) 8. Michael Bush (Oak - RB) 9. San Francisco (SF - DEF) 10. Santonio Holmes (NYJ - WR) 11. Lee Evans (Buf - WR) 12. Steve Slaton (Hou - RB) 13. Chaz Schilens (Oak - WR) 14. Tashard Choice (Dal - RB) 15. Robbie Gould (Chi - K) |

Heck, yeah. Benson in RD5? How? I love the depth at RB. I see only two small issues: (1) No backup QB for a guy who isn't established. (2) Santonio will miss the first 4 games, so if you have to start 3 WRs, Schilens would have to be the guy. |

I concur with that as well. I like Chaz upside, but he's only a #5 WR until he shows something and that he can stay healthy.
Interesting on Benson in round 5, that has to be a hiccup. |

Lee Evans is a proven commodity and you could rotate Schilens or Evans weekly. Schilens week 2 matchup are the Rams. |
