Root, root, root for ... well, in fantasy baseball, it's usually not a good idea getting caught up rooting for the home team. There's a bias in every regional draft. Remember that when you pick your fantasy baseball team this week. If you're drafting in, say, Chicago, let the Cubs and White Sox fans arm-wrestle each other over overrated Chicago prospects, while you concentrate on getting better value from the other 28 teams. Better yet, just draft straight off a Mr. Fantasy list and avoid bias altogether.

Every draft should start with Pujols, Santana and A-Rod.
Reds' Ross primed for big year.

Don't forget about Cubs' Lee.

Phils' Utley a first-round pick.

Marlins' Ramirez on verge of stardom.

Let someone else take Mets' Wright.

Yankees' Abreu might be game's best.

Dodgers' Saito as good as anyone.

Thinking sleeper? Try Phillies' Hamels.

YOU WILL FIND more sleepers on my fantasy baseball draft list than most. But you won't find them among my suggested first-round picks.

Nothing crushes fantasy hopes flatter than a disappointing first-rounder. You absolutely, positively must be conservative when selecting the man who will anchor your squad this season.
